Back to the basics of Nutrition and oral health
Join Dental Hygienist and Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach Lani McBeth to discuss the role of nutrition and systemic health. This course will review the basics of food with a focus on sugar, nutrients, and water and provide dental professionals with three actional steps they can use to help patients recognize the role of good nutrition in disease prevention and healing. Just as important as oral hygiene instructions, nutritional counseling is vital in preventing chronic disease and promoting health.
Participants will learn:
- Explain the role of sugar in inflammation
- Recall the formula for water intake to prevent dehydration
- Discuss the primary function of Vitamin A,C, and D in oral health

In her educational pursuits, she has found a balance in using Western and Eastern Medicine when working to find the oral-systemic link. She has received honors as a top clinician in her DH class, Hygienist of the Year in Arizona, and is a 2023 Sunstar Award of Distinction Recipient as a Full Time Clinician.
